What can you expect from the internship?
There are two roles you can apply for: a summer internship or a trainee lawyer position. The application process is the same for both options. You can apply via our website by filling in the application form and uploading your CV, qualification certificates and cover letter. Alternatively, you can hand us your CV at the job fairs we attend.
Applications for summer internships usually open in March.
Applications for trainee lawyers are announced in August. Keep an eye on our website and social media channels.
Summer internships usually take place in July and last for three weeks. During the internship, you will be assigned to a practice area.
Trainee lawyer programmes last for one year, beginning in September, with rotations between areas during the programme.
Yes. They are paid, reflecting our commitment to valuing talent from day one.
For summer internships, you can apply from the start of your third year of a law degree (in September of the following year, when the process opens).
To join the trainee lawyer programme, you must have completed your degree by the start of the training period in September of the following year.
It is not mandatory. However, a master’s degree is valued and can give you an advantage when applying to join us as a trainee lawyer.
We are looking for individuals who have a solid academic background, are intellectually curious, have a collaborative spirit, and are willing to learn. We welcome diversity of experience and perspectives.
Alongside legal knowledge, we value critical thinking, teamwork, communication skills, foreign language proficiency, and the ability to adapt to challenging contexts.
Yes. We value backgrounds that demonstrate initiative, curiosity and adaptability. Participating in academic projects, competitions, internships and international experiences, or balancing your studies with work, demonstrates the skills and attitude we are looking for.
PLMJ’s recruitment process is very transparent and has been carefully designed to meet the firm’s requirements and the expectations of individuals who wish to start their career here.
The first stage of the selection process involves analysing applications, including CVs, qualifications, and motivation to join PLMJ. If you are successful, you will be invited to an initial interview to help us get to know you better. For summer internships, there is only one interview. For the trainee lawyer programme, there is a second interview, and before that, you will be invited to take non-eliminatory online tests that we will discuss in our second interview. Once the selection process is complete, you will be informed of the outcome, either receiving a formal invitation to join the trainee lawyer programme or a thank you for participating. Even if you do not advance to the interview stage, you will receive a message thanking you for your interest in PLMJ once the trainee lawyer group has closed.
Yes. We ensure continuous supervision by the team for both summer interns and trainee lawyers, guaranteeing your integration and development. In addition, you will be assigned a mentor in the summer internship and in all rotations as a trainee lawyer. Your mentor will support you, help you manage your workload, and provide feedback on your performance.
Assignments are made based on the three areas of preference that you indicate in your application and during your interview. Availability of vacancies in each area is also considered. We always seek to align your choices with existing opportunities.
The number of training places is determined each year based on the firm’s actual needs. This means that, in principle, the entire group of trainees we receive may be offered a position at the firm. The invitation to join PLMJ after the training period is based strictly on professional performance and the personal and social skills demonstrated, as well as a qualitative assessment of integration into the teams where the trainee has worked.
